Tatiana Cheremisinova was born in
Moscow . She graduated from the
Faculty of Architecture at Moscow
State University of Civil
Engineering in 1982. Then she spent
a year studying sculpture, drawing
and painting at the creative studio
of Oleg Yanovsky, a professor at the
Higher School of Art and a talented
sculptor. Tatiana took part in
numerous exhibitions in Russia. Many
of her works have become part of
private collections in the U.K.,
Germany, Finland, Norway,
Switzerland, and United States.
In 1995 Tatiana began to teach
private painting and drawing
classes, and in 2000 she opened a
small experimental studio for
children and adults. In 2007, the
artist moved to Canada. In 2009 and
2010 Tatiana gave art lessons at the
YMCA in Toronto (42 Charles Street)
while continuing her own creative
process. An exhibition of her
students' work took place in
November 2010.
Cheremisinova draws mainly in ink
and oil pastels as well as painting
in oils. The heroes and symbols in
her work often carry allegorical
meaning. She also discovered a new
technique of working with India ink
and special polymer materials.
In December, 2010, a very successful
exhibition of Tatiana's work took
place at the Bezpala-Brown Gallery
in Toronto. It was favorably
reviewed in the Globe and Mail (Dec.
18, 2010):
