Magomet Tchotchiev (Roksolana's Father) was born in 1933 in South Ossetia, Russia. He was awarded his Masters Degree by the Institute of Cinematography, Moscow in 1965 and was the Artistic Director for five award winning films in the late 60’s including “Tenderness”, “A Couple in Love” and “Hello Kind Person”. He was also the Set and Costume Designer for many theatre productions such as “Orthello” and “Much a do about Nothing”.
In parallel with his film and theatre work Magomet always continued painting and has been a member of Russia’s Artists’ Union for many years, he is an expert in oil, watercolor, graphics and sculpture. On numerous occasions Magomet’s work has been exhibited throughout the world, he is well respected by his profession and his paintings now feature in many private collections. Magomet continues to live in Ossetia, Russia.
